You cannot take care of others without first taking care of yourself.
2020-21 was uniquely challenging for myself, my family, and my community. We were asked to do more (more work, provide more services, take on more risk) with less (fewer resources, time, and support). You know what I am talking about.
I have been practicing yoga for over a decade, but it wasn’t until the pandemic when I realized that all the lessons we learn on the mat – breathing though challenges, developing strength, encouraging flexibility, inspiring playfulness, mindfulness, and introspection – apply equally to life off the mat. And thus 2020-21 reinvigorated my passion for yoga, the first step on my journey towards healing, self-care, and wellness.
I became a yoga teacher to help others take care of themselves, so that they may take care of others. Together, let’s build back a little of what we lost last year.
